While a pool can be built year-round, damage to the rest of the yard is minimized during construction, and landscaping can be given a head start for the next spring. 7) How long does it take to build a pool? Generally 6-8 weeks. One piece composites of Granicote can be installed more quickly. Some special water features may take a little longer to complete. Bad weather may also delay installation. 8) What are the safety issues I need to be concerned with when building my swimming pool? All pools must be constructed to ANSI/NSPI-5 2003 standards as adopted by the International Residential code. 9) What are some general guidelines when building a pool?
